She especially disliked ending sentences with a preposition. So, in response he wrote back to her "This is more than I can up with put."

Best,

Michael
I've heard his response was, "That is one rule up with which I will not put!"
Carlton,

Yup, I believe you are correct. That's one of the problems with paraphrasing. But did I get the story more or less right?

Best,

Michael

Not a quote but a thought:
If you drop a cat, it always lands feet down.
If you drop a piece of buttered bread, it always lands butter-side down.
What would happen if you strapped a piece of buttered bread, butter side up, to the back of a cat and dropped the whole unit?

Because he's a crazy, funny guy, some Joss Whedon quotes (he who created Buffy, Angel and Firefly, if that means anything to anyone):

"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck."

"I also don't trust Caribou anymore. They're out there, on the tundra, waiting... Something's going down. I'm right about this."

A deaf and mute person has the Parkinson disease. Does another deaf-mute person think that the one with Parkinson is studdering ?

This one I got from an e-mail that claimed to be some true employee evaluations.

- 'He sets extremely low personal standards and consistently fails to achieve them.'

- 'Somewhere, a village is missing an idiot'

- 'Since my last evaluation, this employee has hit rock bottom and has started to dig'

- 'Works well, when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a trap'

Why not just butter the cat?

I heard something like that! I think the 3 degrees were Burning, then Beating, then a Bride!!

Here's one I heard at an employee's going away party ---

"George with your leaving us and joining Company X, the average IQ of both companies will increase."
